Established by Arthur J. Gallagher in 1927 in Chicago, the Gallagher family retains a close involvement with the company. Gallagher CEO J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. took up the leadership reins in 1995 and continues to guide us today with the same values laid down decades earlier.

Under Pat’s leadership, the company has grown substantially and today Gallagher is an S&P 500 company. With offices around the world, Gallagher people are an integral part of local communities, helping our clients to face their future with confidence.

Gallagher in New Zealand, previously known as Crombie Lockwood, has been built on a long history of helping New Zealanders with their insurance needs. Our local business is still led by two of our Kiwi founders, Steve Lockwood and Carl O’Shea.
