Gallagher is one of the world’s top three insurance brokerage and risk management companies, with a network that provides services in more than 130 countries.
Established by Arthur J. Gallagher in 1927 in Chicago, the Gallagher family retains a close involvement with the company. J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. was appointed CEO in 1995 and continues to guide us today with the same values laid down decades earlier.
Under Pat’s leadership, the company has grown substantially and today Gallagher is an S&P 500 company. With offices around the world, Gallagher people are an integral part of local communities, helping our clients to face their future with confidence
Gallagher in New Zealand, previously known as Crombie Lockwood, has been built on a long history of helping New Zealanders with their insurance needs. Our local business is still led by two of our Kiwi founders, Steve Lockwood and Carl O’Shea.
Gallagher’s extensive connections and reputational strength mean we can secure more cover options and competitive pricing from a wide range of global insurers. This enables us to create insurance programmes for companies with complex needs or that face limited insurer appetite for their risks in New Zealand.
Our size and scale also give us a significant advantage when negotiating premiums, terms and claims on clients’ behalf.
In New Zealand, we’ve been helping Kiwis with their insurance needs for more than 45 years. Our clients are supported by teams of 900 broking professionals in more than 30 offices around the country.
Our characteristic blend of local expertise and global reach means we can support our clients wherever they do business.
Our Gallagher people are driven to do their best for clients, colleagues and communities. Our shared values are core to our culture and are reflected in everything we do, as set out in The Gallagher Way.
As the result of our values-driven approach, Gallagher has been recognised as one of The World’s Most Ethical Companies for thirteen years.
